The test solution for steel is necessary for the distinction from stainless steel to silver and white gold. The solution is applied for one minute on the object. The drops can then be wiped with a paper towel. If the object is made of stainless steel, the application area has brightened up, and in the case of silver, the application area starts dark. White Gold 750 shows no reaction with this test acid.
