Wet processing essentially uses a water/compound mixture. This is used to ensure that the abrasion produced by the grinding wheels and the workpieces is absorbed and discharged. As a result, the grinding effect is maintained, as the wheels cannot become clogged.

The wet media set contains:

For pre-grinding:

  • 2 kg red plastic abrasive discs PA 10:
    • Form: pyramid
    • Grinding effect: medium grinding, roughness medium.
  • 2 kg of KA 10 red plastic chips:
    • Form: conical
    • Grinding effect: medium intensity, medium rough.

For fine grinding:

  • 2 kg of PX 10 white synthetic discs:
    • Form: pyramid;
    • Grinding effect: fine grinding to polishing, specially for the jewellery industry. Suitable for grinding zirconia jewelry.
  • 2 kg of KX 10 white synthetic discs:
    • Form: conical
    • Grinding effect: fine grinding to polishing, specially for the jewellery industry. Suitable for grinding zirconia jewellery.
  • 10 liters of SC 13 compound. This compound is mixed in a ratio of 5% with tap-water (e.g. 1 liter of compound to 20 liters of water) and continuously dispensed to the machine while processing.

SC 13 is a universal compound for all ferrous and non-ferrous metals, with corrosion protection.

pH value: 8

Measuring: 1-5%

The OTEC plastic high-quality grinding chips offer high stock removal rates and a fine surface finish. Their soft bond prevents any hardening of pitting of the workpiece surface. Plastic bonded grinding wheels with a low density and a soft substrate are mainly used for the grinding and fine grinding of precious metals.

Compounds are added to the disc finishing machines during the grinding process in order to produce clean, bright and non-corroded workpiece surfaces. With impact-sensitive work pieces, the compound creates a foam buffer between the work pieces and the abrasive media. The compounds supplied by OTEC not only provide the best possible finishing results, but are also easy to break down in the wastewater treatment system because they do not contain strong complex components.
